Speedway prepares for Opener with safety precautions

May 19, 2020 (West Salem, Wi.)  Officials from the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway announced today that the facility will be retrofitted for the May 30th season opener. In an effort to maintain a high level of safety for the fans during the Covid-19 pandemic, the public access areas (Concessions and Box Office) will have barriers and partitions, the Speedway Staff will be wearing face masks and hand sanitizer stations will be a common sight.   In addition, signage and public address announcements will remind folks about social distancing.  The Speedway can hold in excess of 6500 fans- so space should not be an issue. Although it is not mandatory, fans will be asked to wear a face mask (if they have one) to ensure the peace of mind for all that attend. “We want to be on top of this and make sure the fans are at ease when the come out for the opener” stated Speedway General Manager Chuck Deery.

According to Deery, racing is slated to start at 2 PM and the gates are scheduled to open at 12:30.  The Kwik Trip Late Models, Lawnkeepers Sportsmen, Auto Value Hobby Stocks, ANTS pest control Hornets and Mini Vans will make up the racing divisions for the show.   In addition, it is “Buck Day” – all concession items are just $1 and cold beer is $2.  Buck Day is presented by Old Dutch Foods.  Adults are $13.50, Students (12-17) $7, Kids (6-11) $4 and a Family Pass (2 Adults and 4 Students/Kids) is $34.
