WEST SALEM, WI – Get ready for a summer of excitement at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway, in West Salem, WI, with the return of Thursday Night Street Drags! Embrace those summer nights with a thrilling experience at our five scheduled events for the 2025 season.
The Thursday Night Street Drags will take place on the 3rd Thursday of each month from May to September. Mark your calendars for the following dates: May 15th, June 19th, July 17th, August 21st, and September 18th.
Street Drags provide a fantastic opportunity for anyone to drag race their own vehicle on our 300-foot dragstrip, which utilizes the front stretch of the racetrack. Competitors will be divided into brackets, ensuring you race alongside vehicles similar to yours. Whether it’s cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, motorcycles, or ATVs, we’ve got a bracket for you! Remember, if it has wheels, there’s a bracket for it!
Our brackets include (but are not limited to) Open Class, Cycles, Detroit Iron, Family Sedans, Forced Air, Domestic Performance, 2WD Trucks, Electric, SUV, ATV, Side by Side, Euro Performance, Tuners, 4WD Gas, 4WD Diesel, and High School!
“It’s an event oriented around fun, where you can participate with friends and family, making it a truly exciting experience. If you’ve never tried Street Drags before, we welcome you. It’s an experience like no other!” commented Zach Kohlmeier, Speedway Special Services Coordinator.
But the fun doesn’t stop there! Each Street Drag event also features our Shine ‘n Show car show contest, where you can showcase your hot rod, and the Burnout Contest, where you can compete to be the burnout champion of the night!

- 6:00 PM – Pit area and Registration Opens, Grandstands Open
- 6:45 PM – Practice/Grudge Runs
- 7:30 PM – Brackets Begin
- 8:00-8:30 PM (estimated) – Burnout Contest
- 8:15 PM – Shine and Show (Judging during the Burnout Contest)
- 10:00 PM or earlier – Event Completed
Admission:
- $10 Pit Pass (All Ages)
- $10 Grandstand Admission (Ages 12+, 11 and under FREE)
- $10 per each Bracket Entered
