After Mother Nature forced La Crosse Speedway to cancel the races last week, it was a beautiful night for Mountain Dew Night and twin 20 lap Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Model features tonight.
Jerimy Wagner brought us to the green flag in tonight’s first 20 lap Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Model feature and held the lead until lap 11 when Steve Carlson took the lead momentarily for 2 laps. But it was Ty Majeski, who started the feature in 9th place that took the lead in lap 13 and held onto it until the checkered flag flew. Steve Carlson, Brad Powell, Mike Carlson, and Brent Kirchner followed Majeski across the line for their second through fifth place finishes.
Ty Majeski took a little longer to get to the front of the pack in the second of two Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Models features tonight, when he started 8th and took the lead for the second time tonight in lap 16 of 20 to take home his 6th feature win of the season at La Crosse Speedway. Steve Carlson started 7th in the feature and finished second and his son, Mike Carlson, started 5th and ended 3rd.
Rookie Sam Niles was leading the pack of the Dean’s Satellite Sportsmen feature tonight until there was a caution in lap 9 and Nick Clements took the lead and held onto it for his 6th feature win on the season. Steve Bachman, Sam Niles, Brian Hesselberg, and Devin Schmidt followed Clements across the finish line tonight to finish in the top five.
Taylor Dobbs not only took the lead in lap 7 to win the Auto Value Street Stocks Feature tonight, but he also lapped his cousin, John Dobbs, with 3 laps to go in the 15 lap feature at La Crosse Speedway. Thomas Farra and Dakota Miller rounded out the top three for the night. And for the first time this year, Taylor Dobbs has taken over the points lead.
Kayla Lockington lead the first 9 laps of the Auto Value Thunderstox feature tonight, but after two cautions in laps 8 and 9 she quickly fell to the middle of the pack and Jason Bolster took the lead and continued to cross the line first for the remaining 6 laps. Andy Moore and Jacinda Pfaff finished second and third respectively.
Our next event at the La Crosse Speedway is Saturday, August 6 for Auto Value Night where we will have Late Models, Sportsmen, Thunderstox, Hornets, Mini-Vans, and the Trailer Race of Destruction.
