July 15, 2015 – (West Salem, WI) – It’s time for the 125th LaCrosse Interstate Fair this week, and that means another doubleheader of action at the LaCrosse Speedway.
STREET DRAGS THIS FRIDAY
Start your weekend with all the fun of Premier Powdercoating Street Drags on Friday night, July 17th. Come on out and watch from the grandstands, or the pits, or enter your car into one of the drag racing brackets of action! The fun of Street Drags is for everyone of all ages, and you can bring out your friends or family and show off what your car’s got.
Many brackets are available to fit your street legal car, truck, van, suv or cycle into. Detroit Iron, the muscle cars of the glory days built by the major U.S. Automobile manufacturers – like Firebirds, Corvettes, Trans-Ams, Camaros, for example. There’s Pickup Truck Brackets, a family vehicle / mini-van class, High Skool class, Ford Mustangs bracket, Motorcycles / 4-wheeled ATV’s, Tuners, 4×4, Diesel bracket and more. Plus, hear the thunder as you watch the powerful open-class bracket cars race down the track!
Then there’s a burnout contest, where some like to make a lot of noise and smoke to the approval of the crowd. The Shine N’ Show contest is a great chance for you to show off your classic, muscle or performance vehicle. Got some great special effects or aftermarket parts on it? Show it off! Or just take the time to check out all the vehicles all polished up and appreciate the beauty of finely-tuned and taken-care-of machines.
The gates for both pits and grandstands open Friday July 17th at 6:00 p.m. Bracket Registration starts at 6:00 and is $10 per bracket. Bracket winners for this Fairtime Special event not only get bragging rights and a trophy, but also a winners’ only Street Drags T-Shirt. Pit admission for all ages is $7. Grandstand admission is $7 for age 18 & up, $5 for age 12-17, and age 11 & under are FREE.
NASCAR RACING THIS SATURDAY
Then, on Saturday Night, the stars and cars of local NASCAR Whelen All-American Series stock car racing hit the track in four divisions of action!
It’s time for the Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Models Interstate Fair Twin 20’s, as they will thrill fans with TWO 20-Lap Feature races. In addition, the Dean’s Satellite Sportsmen will race around the 5/8th mile track, and then the Auto Value Thunderstox and Auto Value Street Stocks drivers duke it out on the quarter mile track.
KQ98 Kids’ Rides will take place again this week! Bring out the kids and sign them up at the souvenir stand for a ride in a race car around the track at 7:00!
Gates open at 6:00, qualifying starts at 6:15, and the racing starts at 7:30. Grandstand general admission is $13, Students age 12-17 are $7, and Kids age 6-11 are $3, Children age 5 & under are FREE.

WCEC CAR SHOW ON SUNDAY
Wisconsin Car Enthusiasts Club (WCEC) is proud to bring together another great car show to the LaCrosse area, Sunday July 19th! Partnering with existing affiliates like CCM and local enthusiasts to bring our members an amazing day filled with music, trophies, burnouts, car limbo, giveaways, models, contests, photos, and fun!
The show is Noon to 5:00 p.m. and will be held inside the 5/8th mile race track. Spectator admission is FREE! Cost to show your car is $15 in advance or $20 at the gate. Included in registration is: Access to Trophy participation, Availability to go into the burnout box, Entry in car limbo, Entry for free games, Entry into giveaways and competitions, and much much more!
Food will be provided by the LaX Speedway and DJ’ing will be provided by the one and only Eric X. Boelter!
