Gandrud Cratetoberfest, Engine Give-A-Way Returns to LaCrosse

West Salem, WI- Championship Sunday of the 56th Oktoberfest Race Weekend at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway will again see one driver win a Chevrolet 602 Crate Engine courtesy of Gandrud Performance Parts. Last year a record 33 drivers entered the $1,000 to win event which features racing machines from all facets of motorsports which utilize the popular 602 crate engine. The Gandrud Cratetoberfest event began in 2019 and will award its tenth crate engine on Sunday afternoon October 5, 2025.

A vast array of racecars including Sportsmen, Modifieds, Trucks, Hobby Stocks, Vintage cars, Outlaw 602 Late Models and more have competed in this unique event over the years. Each participant receives one entry in the drawing for the engine while the event winner gets one additional entry and will draw the winning number in Oktoberfest Victory Lane. As Oktoberfest co-promoter Gregg McKarns likes to point out, “Your odds of winning a 602 Crate Engine are better than winning $20 on the pull tabs at your local tavern.” A $500 bonus has also been posted by EPYK Media for the top finishing Midwest Truck.
