West Salem, WI – Speedway officials announced today a large payday for the Bobcat of the Coulee Region night at the races on August 10th. The event will feature twin 25 lap Late Model Features.
The Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Models will compete in honor of the late Don Dionne. Dionne was the Speedway’s Pace Truck Driver for a decade, and was not only a fan favorite, but was liked by so many that knew him in the Speedway’s competitor racing family.
“I don’t believe it; a Late Model driver could end the night with a $5,000 paycheck if he wins both features,” commented Director of Competition Ray Loughan. “I can’t remember if this kind of payout has ever been posted for the Late Models for a weekly race. But I have nothing but wonderful memories of Don Dionne, and we were all blessed to have him as part of our racing family here at LaCrosse,” concluded Loughan.
The top prize in each feature is $2500, with second place earning $1000 and third receiving $500. The rest of the field gets a pay increase as well for each feature during this special event.
The complete racing program not only includes 50 laps of NASCAR Late Model excitement, but also the NASCAR Sportsmen on the big 5/8th mile track. Divisions competing on the quarter mile action track include the Skyline Fireworks NASCAR Hornets, Auto Value Street Stocks and Mini Vans, the Finishline Towing High School Racing Association presented by TDS Fiber, and a Wild and Wacky Spin to Win Novelty Race!
Spectator gates open at 5:30, pre-race kids’ rides commence right after the conclusion of qualifying, and the FUN begins at 7:00pm. Adult general admission tickets are $18, Heroes and Seniors are $16, Students (ages 12-17) are $8, while kids age 6-11 are $4. Age 5 & under are always FREE!
