April 17, 2019 (West Salem, WI) – It has been a long and cold winter in the Upper Midwest. And it appears to be over…as the Robins are back, Geese are flying north, the grass is now turning green and racing returns to La Crosse Fairground Speedway. The annual Frostbuster race event will commence this Saturday April 20th with a 2pm start time. A whopping five divisions will take to the track to begin the grueling chase for the track championships. Included in the line up is: Tobacco Outlet plus Grocery Late Models, Mountain Dew AMP Game Fuel Sportsmen, Auto Value Hobby Stocks, ANTS complete pest control Hornets and the Auto Value Street Stocks.
“There are a lot of race fans looking forward to getting out of the house and ready to see some racing action” stated the Speedway’s Director of Competition Ray Loughan. “Considering we where just clearing snow off our driveway less than a week ago…we are more than ready for some spring and summer racing events” he added.

With many area tracks not open yet, several former track and regional champions are expected to be on hand. Defending track Champion Steve Carlson and 2017 track Champion Nick Panitzke will begin their run for another title. Both will to contend with Elko Speedway’s Jacob Goede, Madison International Speedway’s Bobby Wilberg, former Midwest Tour Champion Ty Majeski and the strong contingent of other weekly competitors also expected to be here . It should be an very competitive 25 lap main event.

Pit Gate Opens at 10:00, Practice Laps at 11:00, Grandstand Gate opens at 12:30 and Qualifying starts at 12:45. The first race of the 2019 season takes the green flag promptly at 2:00 p.m.

General Admission is $13.00, Students age 12-17 are $7, Kids age 6-11 are $4 and children ages 5 & under are FREE. Don’t forget to bring your sunglasses!
