STREET DRAGS & VINTAGE CARS ON TAP THIS WEEKEND

WEST SALEM, WI (July 11, 2017) – July is a busy month, and there’s plenty of opportunities to catch the fun, action, and excitement! This weekend features the first of two consecutive weeks of Friday Street Drags and Saturday’s NASCAR Weekly Racing events.

STREET DRAGS FRIDAY
This Friday night, it’s Round III of Street Drags, as Heroes Bar & Grill at Days Inn LaCrosse Presents the fun! Join us to watch the Fast, The Furious and the Finishes of brackets of Street

Car drag racing. You can be the star of the night, in one of the many brackets of competition. From Pickup Trucks to the Open Class, Cycles or ATV’s, Muscle Cars to Tuners, there’s likely a bracket that your vehicle will be able to race in!

Plus, there’s of course the popular burnout contest, and the shine n’ show contest on the quarter mile track. There’s fun for all, so bring a friend!

General Admission in the grandstands is $7, Kids age 11 & under are FREE.
Pit Passes for ALL Ages are $7, and registration to compete in a bracket is $5 per bracket. Gates open at 6:00, Practice Runs / Grudge Matches at 6:45 and the First Bracket is at 7:30.

PLUS! Watch four crazy fans eat a FREE Fresh Subway Restaurants Sub Sandwich! The one that eats the fastest gets into the final round of the 2017 Subway Challenge on August 12th, where the champion receives a FREE Subway Party Platter.

NASCAR RACING SATURDAY; VINTAGE CARS
Then on Saturday night, the short track warriors take to the LaCrosse Area’s only paved racing arena, as Whelen Engineering presents the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.

Drivers will tackle the 5/8th mile and 1/4th mile ovals, in search of the checkered flags and first place. The First 500 fans in the gate will receive a FREE K&N Filters fan drawstring bag. Bring the kids out early and sign up at the souvenir trailer for the KQ98FM Kids’ Rides! Catch the fun of a slow lap all the way around the 5/8th mile race track in a stock car!

The racing gets underway at 7:30 and will feature all the action of the Tobacco Outlet Plus Grocery NASCAR Late Models, Dean’s Satellite Sportsmen, and the Auto Value Parts Stores Thunderstox. Plus, joining the three weekly warrior divisions will be the Upper Midwest Vintage Racing Series! Check out all the awesome cars from the glory days. Such a Variety of cars on the track at the same time…… So Much Fun!

Gates open at 6:00, qualifying starts at 6:00, kids’ rides right after qualifying (approx. 7:00) and the first race begins at 7:30.

General Admission is $12.50, Students (Age 12-17) are $6.50, Kids (Age 6-11) are $3 and children age 5 & under are always FREE. Acres of free parking are readily available when you arrive!


CHAMPIONSHIP CHASE BEGINS THIS SATURDAY

If you haven’t made it to a race at LaCrosse Speedway this season, it’s time you did. The action on the track has been the best in years, featuring a variety of winners – including a few “first-timers,” some excellent side-by-side racing and of course a few thrills and spills.

It’s now mid-July, and that means there’s only SIX Weeks of weekly events remaining on the 2017 racing schedule. The Championship Chase gets started this Saturday.

Drivers eligible for the Late Model Chase include: 22-Nick Panitzke, 66-Steve Carlson, 07-Tony Leis, 1-Cole Howland, 23-Brad Powell, 33-Matthew Henderson, 8-Nick Clements, 50-Mike Carlson, 2-Jesse Pokszyk, 18-Mike Ehde, 18-Jerimy Wagner, 51-Justin Mullikin, 20-Devin Schmidt, 7-Don Turner, 4-Cam Dezelske and 02-Carter Christenson.

Drivers eligible for the Sportsmen Chase include: 6-Randy Humfeld, 22-Brad Warthan, 14 – Steve Bachman, 03-Jeff Thompson, 25-Adam Oxborough, 50-Tom Luethe, 75-Justin Berg, 33-Marc Luethe, 69 Mandi Eckelberg, 13-Mark Challet, 97-Bob Fort, 5-Brian Hesselberg, 38 Shawn Lockington, 28-Sam Niles, 34-Travis Gordon and 4-Nathan Borchardt.

Two drivers will be eliminated each week – the lowest finishers in the feature of the eligible drivers. The final four will head to Oktoberfest on October 5th to determine the Chase Winner.
