HENDERSON PICKS UP FIRST FEATURE WIN IN EIGHT YEARS

By: Aspen Andre
(West Salem, WI – July 8, 2017) After a fantastic on track autograph session before the race, fans stuck around to take in an exciting night of racing at LaCrosse Speedway.

Onalaska’s Jerimy Wagner lead the Tobacco Outlet Plus Grocery Late Model feature early on but he wouldn’t be able to hold onto it until the end of the race though. Matthew Henderson would take the lead away from Wagner on lap 13 of 25. But he wasn’t done working yet as he would have to hold off a tight 3 car race for second before he could pick up his first feature win since 2009. Brad Powell finished in second and Jerimy Wagner finished third.

After an early caution on lap one of the Dean’s Satellite Sportsmen feature, Tom Luethe would lead the pack for the next 7 laps. But after another caution came out Steve Bachman took over the top spot. Bachman would have to hold off New Prague, MN’s Adam Oxborough though for the remaining laps to pick up his first feature win of the season. Oxborough finished second from his 10th place start and Randy Humfeld finished third after starting 12th.

An exciting finish to the Auto Value Thunderstox feature where Adam Moore passed Joey Johnson with half a lap to go to take home his third feature win in a row. Joey Johnson finished second and Jason Bolster got third.

Chris Larson would take the early race lead in The Auto Value Street Stock feature but would only hold it for 5 laps until a caution flew and he fell behind. Cataract’s Tom Farra would take the lead after the caution and hold it until the end. Kevin Thomas finished second and John Eron finished third.

Matt Moore won the mini van feature after leading the whole race. Dan Frye finished second and Kyle Rozek third.

The next event on the Speedway calendar is Friday, July 14th for the Heroes Bar & Grill at Days Inn Street Drags where there will be bracket racing, Shine N’ Show, and a burnout contest.
