LARGE LATE MODEL FIELD ANTICIPATED APRIL 22ND

April 4, 2018 (West Salem, WI) – April is now in full swing and soon will also be the LaCrosse Speedway 2018 season.

Nearly thirty drivers have registered already to run in the Tobacco Outlet Plus Grocery NASCAR Late Model division this season. Returning will be Minnesota’s Nick Panitzke, as he looks to be the first time repeat Late Model Champion since 2006 without the last name Carlson. That feat was done by Bangor’s Kevin Nuttleman in 2005 and 2006.

Although Panitzke was tough last year, never count out six time track champion Steve Carlson, who won four straight titles from 2013-2016. Competition was the toughest in years last season, and there were eight different feature winners in sixteen races, including four that won their first. But this year, expect Carlson and Panitzke to be fully challenged each week by Cole Howland, Ty Reedy, Brad Powell and Mike Carlson for the title run.

Other drivers that could win on any given week might just be Mike Ehde, Jerimy Wagner, Jesse Pokszyk and Nick Clements. First time winners this season could also be Justin Mullikin, Carter Christenson or newcomer from Minnesota, Michael Beamish. And don’t forget that Matthew Henderson ended an eight year drought in 2017, returning to Victory Lane last July.

When the 2018 season takes the green flag, regardless of who one might be cheering for, it should be another action-packed year full of excitement.

So Join us, on Sunday April 22nd with the 6th Annual Frostbuster event. Gates open at 12:30, Qualifying at 12:45 and racing gets underway at 2:00. The event features NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action of the Tobacco Outlet Plus Late Models, Dean’s Satellite Sportsmen, Auto Value Thunderstox, the ANTS Complete Pest Control Hornets, and the Auto Value Parts Stores Street Stocks.
