MOTHER NATURE CAN’T STOP POWELL AT LA CROSSE SPEEDWAY

By: Aspen Andre
(West Salem, WI – June 25, 2016) After a quick rain shower and an hour rain delay over the La Crosse Speedway around 8:30 tonight we got the track officials and racers out on the track to dry it off so we could go back to green flag racing at 9:30 pm.

Brad Powell brought home the checkered flag for the Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Model feature tonight where he started 7th and was in the top 3 by lap 3. From there we saw him take 2nd in lap 5 and 1st in lap 6 and held onto the lead for the remainder of the race. Steve Carlson came across the line 2nd and son Mike Carlson was right on his tail in 3rd for the checkered flag.

The Dean’s Satellite Sportsmen feature saw Nick Clements take the top spot half way through the feature and hold onto it until the checkered flag dropped. From lap 8 on it was Steve Bachman and Brian Hesselberg following Clements respectively.

Mark Challet, who did triple duty tonight at the speedway was in the lead for all 15 laps of the Auto Value Thunderstox feature tonight. Jason Bolster and Bill Schott fought their way from the middle of the pack to earn second and third correspondingly tonight.

It was all Jason Stark tonight in the Subway Outlawz feature race. Stark also lead all 15 laps of the feature, en-route to his fourth feature win of the year. Jason Bolster and Jack Litscheim followed him across the line.
It was a hard fought battle between John Eron, Keith Larson, and Al Bartels in the Auto Value Street Stocks feature tonight, but in the end it was John Eron who saw the checkered flag first.

Our next event at the La Crosse Speedway is Friday, July 1 for the Star Spangled Spectacular where we will have TUNDRA Super Late Models, TUNDRA Sportsmen, Vintage cars and the Midwest Trucks.
