2016 WEEKLY RACING TAKES THE GREEN THIS SATURDAY

The 2016 LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway season shifts into high gear this weekend, with the first doubleheader of action this year!

Street Drags Friday Night

Coming up first, is Premier Powdercoating Street Drags, this Friday night.

All the fan favorite brackets will be back in competition for your drag racing thrills. Bring on out your car and participate in brackets that will fit pickups, cycles, ATVs, muscle cars, tuners, standard sedans, Mustangs, plus Diesel and Performance classes, 2WD / AWD classes and a High Skool Class.

Then there’s the ever-popular Burnout contest and the Shine N’ Show on the quarter mile track – where you can bring out your car and have a chance at the top prize trophy. Check out all the other great rides in the meantime.

It’s the first time out for all the fun, so be sure to get the car shined up and let your friends know to meet you there. Gates open at 6:00 (both pits and grandstands), Practice runs at 6:45 and the first bracket starts at 7:30.

Grandstand general admission is just $7, Students age 12-17 are $5 and kids age 11 & under are Free. Pit passes for all ages are $7, and registration to compete in a bracket is just $5 per bracket. For more information, visit the Street Drags Website, or like it on Facebook.

Weekly Racing Takes Green Saturday Night

NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action resumes this Saturday night, as Whelen presents the Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Models, Dean’s Satellite Sportsmen, Auto Value Thunderstox, ANTS Complete Pest Control Hornets and the Auto Value Street Stocks.

Plus, kids can ride in a race car during the KQ98 Kids’ Cruiser Night before the races begin (approximately 7:00). Qualifying begins at 6:15, the first race takes the green flag at 7:30. General Admission is $12, Students age 12-17 are $6, Kids age 6-11 are $3 and hildren age 5 & under are Free.

2016 Souvenir Yearbooks

The 2016 Souvenir Yearbook is headed to press and will be available to the fans on Saturday night May 14th! Be sure to pick up a copy at the Souvenir Stand. The book has lots of articles by special Guest Columnists, and information for the fans about this season. Plus, included is up-to-date drivers’ lists from the Frostbuster Race, as it went to press!

Highway 16 is Closed – Onalaska to West Salem

Construction of the project is moving along well, and Highway 16 between Onalaska and West Salem is now CLOSED until late July.

Remember if you’re coming from the LaCrosse / Onalaska area to get on I-90 at Exit 3 or 5 and use the West Salem Exit #12. Follow the frontage road west (Cty C / Buol Road) and Turn Northbound on M, to head straight to the track.

Looking Ahead

Looking ahead to coming events include the first Late Model “Double Feature” night, as they race in two 20-Lap main features on May 21st. The following week, on Memorial Day weekend, it’s the popular “Buck Night” at the concession stands. The month of may has a lot for race fans to look forward to, so please join us for all the fun and great times!
