(West Salem, WI – July 25, 2015) Pischke Motors night at the Speedway saw some hot cars on and off the track. Pischke Motors brought some very nice cars down to the track tonight and showed them off with a couple laps around the 5/8ths mile track.
The Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Models saw Jason Dummer and Matthew Henderson take the green flag and Henderson lead at lap 1. The middle of the pack was pretty tight together, but Brad Powell was able to make his way out of there as he reeled in Henderson. On lap 8, Powell took lead and was gone. Ty Majeski came up to battle Henderson for the 2nd spot and took it at the half way point.
With 10 laps to go, Powell, Majeski, Henderson and Brent Kirchner each had about a 2 car length lead over the person in front of them. The rest of the field battled for the remaining positions. At the checkers, it was BP Brad Powell taking home the win. Majeski, Henderson, Kirchner and Carlson rounded out the top 5. Powell said that they tried some things tonight that they had never thought of and that propelled them to the lead and eventually the win.
The Dean’s Satellite Sportsmen feature was started with Mark Challet and Justin Mullikin on the pole. Challet takes an early lead as Mullikin tries to get around him. Nick Clements and Steve Bachman were in the hunt for the win and quickly tracked down the front 2 of Challet and Mullikin.
On Lap 3 Clements takes the lead from Challet and checks out from the rest of the field with Bachman in tow. At the half way point, Clements and Bachman had a ¼ track lead over the rest of the field. Clements would see the checkered flag fall 1st tonight for his 5th feature win of the year. He also claimed his 7th fast time qualifier of the year tonight.
The Auto Value Thunderstox feature started with Radlee Pfaff and Kayla Lockington bringing the field to the green flag. The caution was brought out by Kyle Lockington and we saw a complete restart. Some aggressive driving was displayed on the track and Scott Mahlum was shown the black flag. Upon receiving this, he spun Andy Moore on the front stretch. With 6 laps to go, Charles Vian Jr. takes the lead from Kayla Lockinton. Without looking back, Vian Jr. was able to win the feature with Thomas Farra, Kayla Lockington, Andy Moore and Kaleb Hardy rounding out the top 5.
The ANTS Complete Pest Control Hornets took the green flag but were quickly under caution as Marc Luethe and Travis Lee got together hard in the turn 4 wall. Lee was able to make a quick pit stop and return to the race. Kim Strum lead most of the race but it was Tom Luethe who brought home the checkered flag win.
Also at the Speedway tonight we had the vintage cars. They generally only race at Octoberfest, but shared some racing action with us tonight. They brought some heavy cars and motors to play on the 5/8ths miles tonight. Rex Rossiere brought home a feature win tonight. We will see these cars again in a few months at Octoberfest.
