RECAPPING LAST WEEK

Many drivers would love to finish second place in a NASCAR Late Model feature, and that’s exactly where Steve Carlson finished, twice, last Saturday night. In fact that’s his worst finish of the year after winning the first three features in 2015. Knocking him out of Victory Lane were Brad Powell and Shawn Pfaff, as the Late Models ran two 20-Lap main events. Powell’s win came without a lot of pressure, but Pfaff had to drive every lap as if it was the last one to hold off Carlson, and earn his first win in nearly two years.

Sportsmen point leader Nick Clements ka-chowed the field with his second feature win of the season, by holding off Jamie Dummer, Bill Martin and Justin Mullikin, who had one of his best feature finishes to date. Many drivers are ready to strike and get either that first win of the year or first as a Sportsmen driver. Be there this Saturday to find out the next name to enter in the record books.

Andy Moore won his second Thunderstox feature of the season, beating Bill Schott and Kyle Lockington, whom both would have loved to win their first feature race, while Garrett Thicke took home the checkers in the Hornet feature for his first of the year.

Taylor Dobbs won the first Street Stock race of 2015

STREET STOCKS

Two weeks ago, the Auto Value Street Stocks raced for their first time in 2015 and the race had many wild moments. Most notable was an incident between two cars that led to 2014 Champion John Eron’s car on top of the backstretch wall. The Street Stocks are back this week and ready for more racing.
