RAIN FORCES CANCELLATION OF RACING AT LACROSSE

July 12, 2014 (West Salem, WI) – Officials of LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway have cancelled the racing events on Saturday, July 12th due to rain.

Heavy showers during the afternoon with the threat of showers continuing into the evening forced officials to make the decision. “Darn it, It is unfortunate that we had to cancel, but as everyone knows, no one can control the weather,” commented Track Official Erik Johnson.

“There was not a raindate for the Festival Foods Buy-One, Get-One promotion, but anyone that has a voucher may use it for the Saturday, August 30th 200 Lap Enduro. We look forward to seeing everyone at that event, as well as all of the race teams and fans next week for NASCAR Racing,” concluded Johnson.

Racing continues next weekend for a doubleheader of action. On Friday night, July 18th, fans can bring out their street car, truck, motorcycle, van or ATV and race it in Premier Powdercoating Street Drags. Then, on Saturday, July 19th, NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action continues with the annual LaCrosse Interstate Fairtime special, featuring the Late Models, Sportsmen, Thunderstox, and Hornets. In addition, the Late Models will race in two 20-lap feature races. For more information please call the Speedway office at (608) 786-1525 or visit www.lacrossespeedway.com.
