April 24, 2014
(West Salem, WI) – This Sunday afternoon, Budweiser presents the opening race of the 2014 racing calendar at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway. Join us at the track for the “Frostbuster,” a new tradition in opening the season, not under the lights, but in the warm daylight.
There will be new faces, new cars, new paint jobs and new car numbers all to hit the track this Sunday afternoon. The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series’ only paved weekly racing oval in Wisconsin will feature five action packed divisions in competition. The Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Models and Coca-Cola Grand National Sportsmen will thunder around the five-eighths mile and the warriors of the quarter mile, the United Auto Supply Thunderstox, the ANTS Complete Pest Control Hornets, and the Coke Zero Outlawz will all fulfill your need for speed.
The quest begins this Sunday for the 2014 championships. Will there be new faces crowned at the end of the year? Will a Late Model driver be in contention for a national NASCAR Whelen All-American Series title? The pieces of the puzzle will begin to be put into place this Sunday.
The cagey veteran, defending Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Model Champion Steve Carlson is registered to compete again this season. However, fans can expect that one of these drivers has what it takes to take the title away from Carlson: Brad Powell, Matthew Henderson and Cole Howland. A battle for 2014 Late Model Rookie-of-the-Year looms, as young gun, but track veteran, Jack Litsheim will battle newcomers Justin Zmyewski and Carter Christenson.
