ENDURO ENTRY – Oct. 12, 2013 Pumpkin Smash 100
September 3, 2013
West Salem, WI – The longest race on the annual schedule at LaCrosse Speedway is well identified as the Oktoberfest 100. This year, however, fans and racers will see a second 100 lap feature event, which will close the book on the 2013 racing season.
On Saturday, October 12th, the “Pumpkin Smash 100” will take place, a 100 lap enduro race for 4 and 6 cylinder racers. Always known for constant action, thrills, spills, spins and crashes, the enduro races provide a race fan or thrill seeker a spectacle of fun. Drivers bring cars from all over the region to compete in the action packed races, which are run without the aid of a caution flag. In replacement of cautions, if a car is in trouble, a “jam truck” meanders out and joins in the race to push the spun or stalled car off the track as the race goes on.
“It’s the constant action, on the edge of madness that is what’s so fun about the Enduros,” commented flagman Greg Oliver. “There’s cars all over the track, kicking up dust, weaving in and out of traffic, and cars going a variety of speeds that creates such a spectacle,” concluded Oliver.
The race will be held in conjunction with the final Monster Energy Drink Street Drags of the season, the 300 Foot Bracket Nationals.
Grandstands and pits open at 12:30 for Street Drags, and the first bracket starts at 2:00. The Enduro pits will open at 3:00, and the green flag for the Pumpkin Smash 100 will fly between 5:00 and 6:00, after the completion of the Street Drags. Grandstand General Admission for the whole day is just $5, while kids 11 & under are FREE.

In addition to the October 12th events, the Speedway still has a few opportunities to see great action this season. Saturday, September 7th features the Subway Eve of Destruction, featuring two monster trucks, five jet cars, a trailer race, roll-over contest, steel wall and much more. The final 2013 Friday night Street Drags follows on Friday, September 13th, and the 44th annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend will take place October 3rd-6th.
