Two 20 Lap Late Model Feature Races on Saturday!

The 2013 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season charges on this Saturday night, featuring the Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Models, Exhaust Plus Sportsmen, United Auto Supply Thunderstox all out in full force to tackle the 5/8th and 1/4 mile tracks.

It’s a Late Model Racing spectacular, one that you should not miss. The Kwik Trip Late Model stars and cars will race in TWO 20 Lap Feature Races. The outcome of the first race could effect the second race, so you just never know what is going to unfold on the track each night. In addition to all the Late Model racing, the Exhaust Plus Sportsmen will tackle the 5/8th mile and the United Auto Supply Thunderstox will not only race their full program, but also will compete in Driver Olympics…. the wacky Outhouse Race!

Last week, one of the contenders had hard luck, as Cole Howland, who is having his best season ever, ran into trouble during practice and was unable to get the car back on track for the night. Last year’s champion, Todd Korish broke a steering rack and was unable to get the car repaired to compete for the evening as well. The action on the track was exciting, nonetheless, as Brad Powell had a fast car and charged all the way up to second but ran out of time before the checkers. It was point leader Steve Carlson taking the win, and Adam Degenhardt, who rounded out the top three.

Bill Martin won his first Exhaust Plus Sportsmen feature of the year, with the aid of a late race caution that doubled up the field for the restart. In dominating fashion, he was able to pull away from the pack from the outside row position on the restart and as always entertained the fans from Victory Lane.

Adam Moore was victorious again in the United Auto Supply Thunderstox in a race that saw plenty of fender banging action. It was coming off a week where he had bad luck and got stuck in Lake Speed during the feature.

This Saturday, Gates open at 6:00, Qualifying at 6:15 and the first race starts at 7:30. General Admission is $14, Students (age 12-17 with i.d.): $7, Kids (Age 6-11): $4 and Children age 5 & Under are FREE.

So, Join us for all of the fun this Friday night for Street Drags, and for Saturday Night NASCAR Racing, as there’s only seven weeks of NASCAR action to go during the 2013 season!
