February 8, 2011 – (West Salem, WI) – The 42nd year of asphalt stock car racing at the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway is now shifting into high gear.
The first organized event taking place this year will be the annual driver registration and orientation meeting. This will take place at the same location, the Fox Hollow Golf Course Banquet Hall; however, a new date has been set. “The meeting will take place on a Wednesday night this year, in order to accommodate everyone a little better,” commented race director Jeff Garbers. The meeting will take place on Wednesday evening, March 23rd. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m., with the meeting starting at 6:00.
“Anyone interested in racing at the track this year, whether it be Late Models, Sportsmen, Thunderstox, Hornets, or Outlawz are welcome to attend,” commented General Manager Chuck Deery. “It is a very informative meeting on procedures during the race season, and new drivers especially are strongly encouraged to attend. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to take care of track and NASCAR memberships, pit parking locations, season pit passes, as well as providing driver information for the media,” concluded Deery.
The Fox Hollow Golf Course Banquet Hall is located five miles south of the Speedway (take Cty Rd M) to Cty Rd O, (about a half mile west of “M” on “O”) in Barre Mills.
The 2011 season will heat up on the track on Saturday, April 16th for Media Day, with an open practice session 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. Weekly racing begins the following week on Saturday April 23rd, starting at 7:30, featuring the Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Models, North Country Contractors Sportsmen and United Auto Supply Thunderstox.
