MIDWEST ENDURO SERIES SEASON READY FOR RETURN TO LACROSSE FAIRGROUNDS SPEEDWAY JUNE 20

Waterford, WI, June 12 – The Midwest Enduro Series is excited to make its return to the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway (West Salem) on Sunday June 20. The Series last event held at the track was in 1989. The “COW97 Enduro 300” main event is presented by WCOW 97.1 Country of Sparta.

The race program will begin starting at 3:00 featuring the “COW97 Enduro 150” for the Midwest Enduro Small Car and V-6 Series cars. The final racing event for the day will feature the Midwest Enduro Stock Car Series “COW97 Enduro 300” starting at approximately 4:00. Both events will run on the exciting ¼-mile track and are 150 & 300 laps in duration respectively.

A guaranteed first prize will be awarded to both the “A” and “B” class winners for the Stock Car division and the winner of the Small Car Series if 40 or more cars are entered in each division. A first place prize of $800 for the “A” class, $400 for the “B” class winner with $500 for the Small Car Series winner respectively. The V-6 payoff will be announced. Each class pays the top 15 positions and will adjust accordingly to car count and attendance.

The top five finishing drivers in each event will receive plaque awards courtesy of the Midwest Enduro Stock Car Series and WCOW97.1 FM. The overall winner in each race will receive a large trophy.

Currently, Mark Fogel is the Midwest Enduro Stock Car Series point leader. Fogel, who won the first two events of the season, is in front of Don Lunsford followed by Tom Ruh, Mike Watson and Darryl Traber.

Currently, Mark Johler is the Midwest Enduro Small Car Series point leader. Johler also won the first two events of the season and is in front of Dan Chapman followed by Jason Jarvis, Leo Bujak and current “rookie of the year” point leader Matt Skarzynski.

Currently, the team of Keith Kunze and Al Cottrell are the Midwest Enduro V-6 Series point leaders. Kunze and Cottrell are also the current Midwest Enduro V-6 Series “Rookie of the Year” point leaders ahead of Gerald Hayes Jr. Kunze and Cottrell, seeking their first title, are followed by defending champion Brad Nelson, Adam Cashmore, Tim Goulet and Hayes Jr.

The Midwest Enduro Series will present gifts to all the fathers in attendance on this “Fathers Day” special. Fans can also listen to WCOW97.1 FM for free ticket giveaways the week prior to the “COW97 Enduro 300”. Fans can also plan for a full racing weekend at the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway with discounted tickets to the June 20th event if you attend the Saturday night June 19th great regular full racing program.

The pit gate will open at 11:00 am. The grandstands will open at 1:00 pm. The “COW97 Enduro 150” will begin at 3:00 and the “COW97 Enduro 300” main event at 4:00.
