(West Salem, WI – July 26, 2012) This Saturday night, Kwik Trip presents all of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action featuring the Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Models, North Country Contractors Sportsmen and United Auto Supply Thunderstox.

Plus, the Thunderstox will race in a Double Spin to Win novelty race! Watch the madness unfold as the Thunderstox race a few laps, then do a 360 or spin on the race track, then race a couple more laps, do another spin, all before the checkered flag waves.

Gates open at 6pm, Qualifying at 6:15 and the first race begins at 7:30. General Admission is just $11, students age 12-17 are $5 and kids age 6-11 are $3. Children age 5 & under are always FREE.

Fierce Point Battles Featured in all Divisions This Summer

As the 2012 season heads into the homestretch, there has not been any “dominant” driver in any division this year. Lots of faces have visited victory lane and as a result, there are great battles for the point championship in every division.

Case in point: Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Models. Brad Powell has been fast and has won three races, more than any other driver. But he has had mechanical troubles this year, leaving him fourth in standings. J. Herbst has won twice, but has had his share of bad luck as well. Consistent drivers Brent Kirchner, Shawn Pfaff and Todd Korish are the three at the top of standings and it looks like one of them will take the title this year, unless bad luck knocks on their door panels. Kirchner is the only one of those three with a win this year to date. Kudos goes out to young guns Harley Jankowski and Cole Howland for taking their first Late Model feature wins this season.

The North Country Contractors Sportsmen division will see a first time champion this year, as Randy Humfeld narrowly is ahead of Jake Arneson and Greg Scheck, while Matt Inglett is still within shouting distance should one of the top three stumble. It’s Humfeld that appears to be the solid “always in contention” driver to beat, but Scheck has been on fire in recent weeks.

Youth over experience is the theme this year in the United Auto Supply Thunderstox. The top three in points are nearly tied; Dakota Miller is just ahead of Jordan Myers and Tom Luethe. David Cavin could still capitalize if the top three have bad circumstances. It looks like veteran Jason Bolster is almost out of contention, but never until the checkered flag drops.

The Window World Hornet point battles are always tight. These drivers may not have the weekly grind that the top three divisions do, but they fight for every point every lap of every race. The top six in standings at this time could still earn the championship. Mark Bornitz leads by a narrow seven points over Kim Strom, and ten over Jeff Stumlin. Jake Bemis is another five points back and is still in the hunt. Only Bornitz has won the Hornet title… could he repeat or will we see a first time champ?
