The primary responsibility of the Greeter / Ticket Taker welcoming the guests as they arrive into the grandstands. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for taking their ticket, hand them a stub, place hand stamps for re-entry, exchange VIP and Hospitality tickets for wristbands. Welcoming the guests in a friendly and professional manner is essential. The position is on Event days only, visit lacrossespeedway.com/schedule for dates. Greeter / Ticket Taker works on Saturdays at 5:00p.m. until approximately 9:30, or after additional assigned tasks are complete. (Age 21+)
The role of the Scoring Official is to work in the race control tower on race days. Duties include: Line Scoring with pen and paper (must have good penmanship). Must be able to write fast, with legible handwriting and have good eyesight. Scorer also assists at the Pit Gate on Race Days, such as handling registrations, pit passes, signing the waiver & release, etc for the race teams entering into the pit area. Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned. Position hours are Saturdays / As needed per event schedule 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., or once responsibilities are completed. (Age 21+)
Concession stand workers for race events could include, but not be limited to, sandwich wrappers, grill cooks and fry cooks. Successful candidates should have good listening and observation skills, with the ability to react quickly and efficiently during periods of high food and drink demand. Candidate must be available to work Friday Nights and Saturday afternoon/nights. This is a fast-paced environment, and candidate must be clean and presentable in appearance, act polite and friendly to the customers and have good math skills. Responsibilities may also include Cash handling. Hours typically from 4:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. on Race days – Friday Night Drags and Saturday Night racing. (Age 14+ With Work Permit).
The Souvenir & Program sales representative is responsible for selling merchandise, ranging from hats and t-shirts to toys, flags and programs. Candidate must be well groomed, have pleasant communication skills, have good math skills, and be skilled in handling cash transactions. Must act professional and friendly to the customers. Hours typically from 4:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. on Saturday nights. (Age 16 + with Work Permit)
Candidate must be physically able to walk, run and restrain if needed. Candidate is responsible for gate security and crowd security, and is able to handle pressure situations in a professional-like manner. Typical Hours are 5:45 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (Age 18+)
The responsibilities of the Publicist are to work in the race tower near the announcer on race day. The candidate will type out the results of each race, write a press release summarizing the events that took place on race day and submit to the media. Additional responsibilities may include assisting the Track Announcer with information, updating driver’s lists, providing information to the media, taking fan birthday/announcements, helping with pre-race activities, kids events and more. Hours are typically Saturdays from 6:00 until 11:00p.m. Candidate must be able to type at 120 words per minute and be able to creatively write essays. (Age 18+)
Responsibilities include Technical inspection of various styles of race cars. Skills: Must be very knowledgeable about stock car race cars, street cars and the LaCrosse Speedway technical rulebook. Must be able to confidently make decisions and back them up regarding inspections and technical rules. Hours are Saturdays 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. on dates according to the LaCrosse Speedway 2016 schedule.

Responsibilities for Bartenders include: Stock Candidate must be well groomed, have pleasant communications skills, have good math skills, be able to handle cash transactions in a fast paced environment. Must act professional and friendly to customers. Must be able to check I.D.’s, lift up to 30 pounds. Hours typically from 5:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. on Saturday nights, and 5:30-10:30 during Friday night Street Drags. (Age 21+)
The Hospitality Team Leader must be able to execute weekly Hospitality responsibilities and provide direction / manage corporate hospitality events on race day. Candidate must be comfortable in leading a team / staff of 4-6 employees to setup, prepare, serve and clean up foodservice at Hospitality events. Must be able to give direction to co-workers and think / act in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate must be well groomed and able to act professional in dealing with company leaders at their events. The Hospitality leader must be able to commit to working on Saturdays (May- second weekend in September ) as well as various other requested event dates. Hours are typically 3:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. (Age 21+)
The primary responsibility of the Pit Gate Assistant is the registration of participants into the restricted area, the collection of appropriate fees, and issuing of proper credentials or pit passes. The position may entail varying roles on race days; including, but not limited to: providing a prompt, efficient and courteous customer experience, responding to and resolving customer requests and concerns with excellent customer and communication skills, cash handling skills, additional tasks as instructed. Hours are generally Saturdays 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and the second Friday Night of the month 5:45 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. (Age 21+)
