KURTH TAKES ENDURO 200 TITLE

Sept. 2, 2017 (West Salem, WI) – Jason Kurth claimed his first LaCrosse Speedway Enduro 200 title Saturday Night at LaCrosse Speedway.

Unexpected showers that hit the speedway after qualifying changed the track conditions for the race, but that didn’t stop the lime green #21K car that Kurth drove to the win.

The race got underway with over 70 cars taking the green flag on the tight quarter mile track. Fans in attendance saw some exciting action during the first half with many cars spinning and several collisions taking place. Talented drivers throughout the race were able to recover from a spin and then continue on in the race. Kurth kept a steady pace and earned the title by the time the checkers flew, over Casey Colsch, Street Stocks driver Mike Peters, Michael Weiss and Brandon Davis.

The Auto Value Street Stocks ran their second to last race of the 2017 season and Jordan Young was the feature winner, followed by Chris Sampson, Robert Stanfield, A-Lien, and Clayton Haessig. The Mini-Vans class ran their championship final race and Mike Peters beat Matthew Moore for the feature win, but it was Moore defeating Peters by seven points for the season championship title. The top five in the feature was completed by Bill Tumaniec, Melissa Rusch, and Carina Hellickson.

Action continues next weekend for a doubleheader of action. On Friday night, September 8th, fans can bring out their street car, truck, motorcycle, van or ATV and race it in Subway Restaurants Street Drags. Then, on Saturday, September 9th, it’s the 26th Annual Night of Destruction, presented by Western Technical College. The event features Monster Trucks, a Jet Car, Trailer Race, Steel Wall Crash, T-Bone Crash, and much more, starting at 7:00.
