FAN ACTIVITIES MAKE OKTOBERFEST RACE WEEKEND FUN FOR EVERYONE

The 46th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend isn’t simply about racing; it’s about fellowship and reunions within the entire racing community. For some, this is the annual get together with friends and share those famous family stories during their visit on October 8, 9, 10 and 11 at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway in West Salem, Wisconsin.

While the focus will be the action on the track, Oktoberfest Race Weekend organizers have also planned events for fans throughout the four days, especially for those staying in the camper village.

“Oktoberfest isn’t just about the racing, it’s about the fans as well,” Gregg McKarns, Oktoberfest Race Weekend Promoter said. “We want everyone who comes to Oktoberfest to not just be involved but participate in different events each day.”

The first fan activity will actually start on Wednesday, October 7 with a Charity Poker Tournament benefitting Special Olympics in the Exhibition Hall.

Dean’s Satellite Camper Challenge will take place on Thursday, October 8, Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10 from noon to 2pm at the Fairgrounds “Big Red Barn.”

The famous Pet Costume Parade will take place on Friday, October 9 in front of the Exhibition Hall at 2:00pm.

The pumpkin coloring contest will take place on Sunday, October 11 at 9am during the pancake breakfast in the Exhibition Hall.

The legendary after race parties take place Friday and Saturday night in the Exhibition Hall, featuring live music. On Friday, Diamond & Steel will take to the stage with the popular band “The Freezers” headlining on Saturday night.
